Terms of use
Self-reviewed · last updated 2026-10-09. Written by us from what the app actually does; not reviewed by a lawyer.
These terms are an agreement between you and Exadatum Software Services Private Limited ("we", "us"), CIN U72900PN2016PTC158545, Flat No. C-1003, 33 Keshav Kunj, Nr. Old Orbis School, Manjari Rd, Pune, Maharashtra 411036, India, for the Rakshak app and this website. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Using the app
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on devices you own or control, for lawful purposes, under these terms and the acceptable use policy.
- The app is offered through Google Play; Google Play's own terms also apply to downloads and purchases.
- The app's open-source parts are under their own licences, listed on the licences page. Nothing here limits your rights under those licences.
SOS is not an emergency service
The SOS features help you alert people you chose. They are not a replacement for calling emergency services, and they depend on your phone, its battery, mobile signal, SMS balance, location services and the settings of your phone. On Android the app cannot place a 112 call by itself; it opens the dialer and you tap Call. Read Safety and how SOS works and test SOS on your own phone. In an emergency, call 112.
AI features
- AI features send requests to the AI provider you set up with your own account and key, or use the model on your phone. Your use of a provider is under that provider's terms, and you pay the provider directly.
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. Check it before you send or rely on it, especially for medical, legal, financial or safety matters.
- You are responsible for what you write, send and share with the app, including AI output you choose to use.
Your content
What you type, send and create with the app stays yours. We do not receive it (see the privacy policy), so we claim no rights over it.
Purchases
The app is free today. When paid plans start they will be sold through Google Play under the subscriptions and refunds policy. SOS will always be free.
Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features, and update these terms. When the terms change we update the date on this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app. Features marked as tests or demonstrations may change or stop.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that every SOS message, call or warning will be delivered or correct. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by your phone, network, AI provider or other services we do not control. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud.
Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; see Delete your data. We may stop offering the app, or end your access to paid or server features if you break these terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact the grievance officer first; we will try to resolve any problem with you. Otherwise the courts at the place of our registered office have jurisdiction.
